My First Mother's Day

My first mother's day was absolutely perfect! Rich surprised me with a beautiful morning at the zoo complete with Mother's Day brunch! It was such nice morning...and Ethan especially loved looking at all of the animals. You could tell how much more aware he is now than the last time we were there. This time, he really pointed and looked at all of the animals.
Ethan knew just what I wanted for Mother's Day...a pass to go to yoga classes! I can't wait until summer vacation, I plan on taking some classes...ohmmmmm...

Birthday Visit

At the beginning of May, Ethan's Bubby and Auntie Arielle came for a visit (and to help me celebrate my big 30th birthday). After years of trying, we finally made it to Pizzeria Bianco in downtown Phoenix. We had tried to go so many times, they were always either closed or booked every time we went. The restaurant is rated the top pizza restaurant in the U.S., some even say the world. It sure was YUMMY...it better be, we got there at 3:00 and they don't even open until 5:00.
Other high points of our visit was our hike at Usery Mountain. Ethan didn't last long in his hiking carrier, and his Daddy and I had to switch off carrying him the whole way! Go mommy arms...hiking a flat trail is a lot more rigorous carrying a 23 pound baby!
Bubby couldn't believe how much Ethan had changed since she was here just a couple of months ago! Sometimes I feel like he is different after I have been away from him at work all day.
We are counting down to the end of June until my family comes for Ethan's first birthday.

Visiting Aunt Jaime!

At the end of April Ethan and I took our first trip together! We flew all the way to Atlanta to visit Auntie Jaime, Uncle Mike and Cousin Cali. Ethan was a perfect angel on the flight there, he slept for over 2 hours, then just hung out eating his apple. We hardly even had to break out any toys for entertainment!
It was so great to see Jaime and Mike, we miss them soooo much!! We all went out to pizza, visited the awesome international foods market and hid from the thunder storms. On our second to last day, we got a surprise visitor! My step-dad John, Ethan's Papi, missed his connecting flight home from Florida due to the thunderstorms and had to spend the night. We all spent our day together going to the delicious neighborhood cafe, and visiting a street fair .
Jaime and Mike's house is adorable, and Ethan especially loved the stairs. Every single time I carried him upstairs his face erupted in a huge smile!
We were so sad to leave, especially considering the flight home was no picnic!

We can't wait to see Aunt Jaime at the end of June!!!
