Easter Egg Project

Ethan and I decided we needed to do a project on Saturday morning (at 7:45 am!). We have colored pictures and used watercolor paint, but we had never made a project together. So we decided to decorate an Easter egg. Ethan has been really into ripping paper lately, which he of course practices on things that shouldn't be ripped. So, I decided we had better put these new ripping skills to good use!

Here he is...about to decorate his Easter egg. Cheeeese!

Ripping the pretty paper to decorate the egg.

Showing off that cheesy grin

Where should I put this pretty paper?

Ooohhh! This one is tough to rip!

Taadaaa!!! Look at my beautiful Easter egg!

Garbage Truck!

Ethan absolutely loves hearing the garbage truck in the morning. It doesn't matter what he is doing, or what mood he is in, when he hears the garbage or recycling truck he drops whatever he has and goes running into the living room yelling, "Gabidsss truck! Gabidsss truck!" If he doesn't run into the living room, he will run over to me or Rich and demand to be picked up so he can be raced out the front door to catch a glimpse of the garbage truck passing by. One morning we missed it, and we had to take a special trip all around the neighborhood to find it as we left for the day. Yesterday morning though was a very special morning because Ethan said his first sentence! After he say the garbage truck, Ethan said, "Gabidss truck pick up trash!"

Go Dog Go!

Ethan cannot get enough of Go Dog Go! We have read it so many times that he can "read" some of the pages himself. He will "read" "big dog, little dog, black dog, white dog." His favorite page is the baseball page. He says "baseball!" until you get to that page, then he chuckles when he sees the dog playing baseball. The other night as we were driving home Ethan started reciting the book to keep himself awake. When he saw the light turn green he said, "go dog, big dog, little dog, black dog, white dog, he he he!" He will also say "Up the tree! Up the tree!" (which if you have read the book 100 times like us, you will know that up on top of that tree is a dog party!)

Smoothie Mess!

The other night I made smoothies and french bread pizzas for dinner. Ethan wouldn't touch his pizza, which he normally loves, because he was working nonstop on drinking his smoothie! Rich and I just had to watch as he ferociously moved the spoon in and out of that cup sucking up every last drop of smoothie. When he couldn't spoon any more out of the cup, he would try to lick out the inside of the cup, as you can see by the messy smoothie face. Then he just kept asking for more, more, more!

Oh Zambo!

Hands Up!
Last Sunday Cassi, Anthony, and their twins Lily and Charlie invited us to go to an indoor amusement park called Zambo in Mesa. Ethan took Daddy on the choo choo train that went round and round, the spinning cups, and the flying airplanes. Ethan had fun, but it was a little strange how many "rides" were "temporarily getting serviced," I guess "temporary" means that the ride looked like it had all of its guts removed and hadn't functioned in the last 15 years! It was also interesting how safety didn't exactly seem to be their priority...as you may be able to tell by the fact that it looks like Rich is about to fall out of the airplane!

Ethan and Daddy had a blast, and I was happy watching and taking pictures! Darn, I didn't get any pics of Ethan with the girls!
